European Logistics Coordinator (2813141505)
The European Logistics Coordinator will coordinate the global logistics operations for Acker U.K. Ltd. and its affiliates. They will be responsible for the oversight of all European/UK originating shipments and communication to Acker’s Hong Kong, New York, and Delaware locations. As this is a new position due to the growth in the company, this position will be responsible to laying the foundation for how global logistics should be coordinated, tracked, and fulfilled. Duties/Responsibilities: • Coordinate all European-based shipments to ensure compliance and visibility • Document and establish standard operating procedures for European shipping • Establish and leverage relationships with shipping vendors to procure the safest and most economical shipping methods • Locate and vet new shipping vendors • Review invoicing for pricing and accuracy • Provide quarterly P&L reporting, and analysis of transportation costs, parts procurement, shipping times, and other fulfillment metrics. • Ensure proper documentation for all shipments to remain in compliance for domestic and international shipping • Monitor warehouse facilities to evaluate inventory transactions such as receiving, storage, shipping, and inventory integrity. • Navigate multiple internal databases with several currencies • Establish inbounds process that streamlines requests and allows for visibility among the sales force to know where and when we have trucks and containers • This job description is to be used merely as a guide of expectations rather than an exhaustive list of all duties and competencies. Required Skills/Abilities: • Knowledge of international import/export & domestic shipping regulations • Extensive knowledge of shipping and distribution channels. • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze problems, propose sound solutions and/or make recommendations and take action. • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to work extended hours and weekends due to heavy workload and business needs. • Segmented and potentially elongated hours to accommodate communication with Hong Kong and New York based offices • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field required. • Previous experience in logistics field required. • Wine knowledge a plus. • Must have a passion to learn about the wine industry. Physical Requirements: • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. • Position may require occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds for short durations
