Transport Planner (Nights) - Supply Chain & Logistics - Skelmersdale - £32,000 pa About the company Our client is currently looking for an experienced Transport Planner (Nights) to work at their base in Skelmersdale as part of their supply chain and logistics service. This is a great opportunity to work with a well-established, vastly experienced national haulage company. Reporting to the Transport Manager and Head of Transport, supported by the company team of planners in addition to on site administration personnel, you will be responsible for overseeing the night shift transport operations. As the successful candidate you should have experience in a similar role and environment.If you have a proven track record of planning safe and efficient cargo transportation and are a great communicator then we would like to hear from you. Transport Planner (Nights)- The Rewards Salary £32,000 pa 4 on 4 off shift pattern (19:00 - 07:00) Averaging 38.5 hrs per week Transport Planner (Nights) - Requirements CPC For Transport Managers (National) Demonstrable experience in a similar transport position, preferably in a high-volume environment Up to date knowledge of Working Time Directive, tachographs and related transport legislation Excellent customer service and influencing skills Experience in leading a large team of drivers Strong customer facing experience Be able to communicate at all levels both verbally and written. Accurate and real attention to detail Must be capable of working well under pressure Have excellent organisational skills and be able to prioritise tasks. Have the ability to identify, suggest and implement improvements Transport Planner (Nights) - Responsibilities Investigate and resolve any distribution or operational discrepancies to a satisfactory outcome Monitor and control the driver de-briefing process to ensure that agreed standards of performance are consistently achieved Challenge and manage any under-performance as appropriate Manage all agency drivers whilst engaged in company distribution activity to ensure full legal compliance Manage all aspects of driver performance to achieve or surpass expectations and KPIs Promote company Health & Safety and employment policies within the transport operation Liaise and communicate with management, colleagues, and customer teams in other functions, e.g. Warehouse, HR and Finance Provide operational cover for holidays/sickness when required About Us Detail2Recruitment acts as an employment agency in respect of this position.
