The Role We are looking for an IT Network Engineer to join our team. We are looking for someone with a good working knowledge of installations. The company considers employees as highly valued members of the business. As a Network Engineer, you need to possess an analytical mind, the ability to learn new technologies quickly and to follow processes with an understanding of commercial and business awareness. Key Responsibilities Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks. Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP. Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation. Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximise network efficiency and security. Maximising network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting. Arranging scheduled upgrades. Investigating faults in the network. Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases. Reporting network status to key stakeholders. Provide IT support to a staff compliment of around 30 staff office bound. Essential Skills Proven hands-on network engineering experience. CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued). Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS). Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model. Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools. University degree in Computer Science or a related subject. Holding a degree and/ or having a technical background will be required. Degrees in the following subjects would be considered: Computer science, Computer software/computer systems engineering, Computer systems and network, Network security management.
