Team Overview Ofcom is the regulator for the communications services that we use and rely on each day. We make sure people get the best from their broadband, home phone and mobile services, as well as keeping an eye on TV and radio. We also oversee the universal postal service, look after the airwaves used by wireless devices, and also help to make sure people don’t get scammed and are protected from bad practices. Purpose of the Role You will be part of a small team of Cyber security and technical architecture colleagues and will work on technologies that protect the organization from Cyber threats. You will work within the SOC (Security Operations Centre) Requirements of the Role Microsoft Azure Security Microsoft Windows 10 and Server backend systems Network security including CISCO and Fortigate There will be a heavy bias toward the Cloud, specifically Microsoft Azure and the security technologies that Azure offers. You'll get involved in classic Cyber technologies such as penetration testing, encryption, intrusion detection & incident response. Skills, knowledge and experience A team player who is dedicated and committed Self-motivated, positive and proactive, with a flexible approach to tasks Evidence of capability and interest at the hobby-level of personal computers and the internet and able to demonstrate a genuine interest in Cyber security Understanding of Cloud computing Logical thinking and creative approach to problem solving Good written and oral communication skills Appreciation of Ofcom's values of excellence, agility, empowerment and collaboration.
