About this role A Specialist in the Managed Service IT Strategy team is responsible for downstreaming the IT strategy for their specialist function into BT Global, defining the solutions that enable BT Global’s managed service propositions. They define and drive decisions regarding innovative technology to create a seamless experience for the BT Global service teams and customers. This covers a range of technology across the relevent service propositions in order to realise the service technology requirements and further optimise service by reducing the total cost of service technology over time. Within this role you will work as part of a team that are responsible for the overall BT Global IT Strategy for Managed Service. Your specific focus and area of expertise being the monitoring, observability and diagnsotic capabilities for the network and digital products that BT Global provide to our customers. You will work in collaboration with other business stakeholders, including architecture to ensure the IT Strategy delivers market leading solutions for our people and customers. You will be responsible for leading the strategic thinking for monitoring, observability and diagnostics, ensuring that the business is continuously innovating and staying in alignment with market trends and changes. You'll have the following responsibilities The below in relation to the functional area you are responsible for: Recommendations on which IT solutions should be used to enable the Managed Service strategy. Own the IT solution costs, and input to capex plan, ensuring the delivery of the managed services roadmap. Strategic Technology Roadmap: Translate the Managed service proposition requirements for your functional area into an IT strategy that is aligned with architecture and the high-level Global IT strategy. Balancing the long term strategy and target architecture with the short term Global needs. Documenting the detailed IT strategies and roadmaps covering the breadth of your functional area. Improvement Proposition: Collaborate with the business Managed Service Propositions team to identify key opportunities to improve the ways of working through better use of technology by creating opportunities that can be included in their roadmap. Investment Prioritisation: Input into the annual plan and capex plan to drive the IT strategy into reality, working with the Digital Roadmap team to prioritise demand, and track the delivery of your roadmap to ensure the business objectives agreed are delivered. Drive Adoption of Technology Initiatives or Innovations: Shape the digital technology approach for key managed service deliverables, support the MSP team in building the technology aspects of the business case, driving technology adoption and establishing the right digital and networks engagement to deliver best of breed IT solutions. Innovation: Analyse trends and market disruptions searching for emerging new technology horizons and keeping in step with how this will drive opportunity/changes for your functional area. Working with the managed service team to align new market opportunities in to service propsoitions for future business growth. Strong stakeholder Management: facilitating recommendations across large numbers of stakeholders, with a strong track record of buy-in and turning dissenters to advocates. Experience of navigating large, complex, organisational structures and challenging the status quo. Able to identify issues, get to root cause and address. Keeps abreast of new and emerging trends and creates/shares insights across BT and in the market.
