Playing a key role in building and shaping a new Controls Assurance Capability within the Controls Office, the successful applicant will play vital role in the leading of design, delivery, and on-going operation of the first-line Controls Assurance Testing Framework for the Chief Operating Office (COO) and across Important Business Services. The difference you will make. Leading on the development and on-going maintenance of the control’s assurance framework and associated methodologies and processes. Driving and developing a risk-based assurance plan for key controls within COO. Leading the capability to execute design adequacy and operating effectiveness testing for key controls within COO and Important Business Services; using expertise to identify control weaknesses and working with senior management to ensure appropriate remedial action is taken. Reporting the outcomes of controls assurance testing; producing related reporting for senior stakeholders across Control Functions. Embedding a rigorous controls culture across the Chief Operating Office. What you will bring. Extensive experience and understanding of risk and control concepts, with in-depth understanding of controls assurance testing, methodologies, and related concepts; and ability to apply judgement and professional scepticism to evaluate risks and control findings. Effective communication skills, with ability to constructively challenge and influence senior stakeholders. It would be nice for you to have. Recognised audit or assurance testing related qualifications (e.g., IIA, CISA, etc.). Experience of working in Financial Services or other large, complex organisations. Experience of controls and controls assurance testing related to IT, Information Security, Operations, Payments, and other Non-Financial Risk areas. What else you need to know. Given the recent impact of the Coronavirus outbreak we will be conducting all interviews via telephone or video-conference where possible. This role is currently home based until corona virus restrictions are lifted. When restrictions are lifted, you will be required to work a hybrid model between home and our offices in Milton Keynes or London. However, we do offer flexibility and other locations will be considered. This is a permanent position.
