Location: UK - Birmingham | Job-ID: 150753 | Contract type: Standard | Business Unit: IT System Engineering (on-site or remote) TRG Technical Team Manager 2 Management of a regional team within a sub-division of Technical Resource Group (TRG) while taking account of corporate and regional divisional objectives. Ensuring service quality, customer satisfaction and service efficiency for TRG services. Responsible for staff development, coaching and motivation within his/her team. Roles at this level will be fully accountable for their own work, establish their own milestones, team objectives and will delegate assignments. Accountabilities • Acting as a role model and creating a trust-based, productive, working environment which is characterised by a positive team spirit. • Provide high level of operational consultancy within the peer group, to internal clients and direct reports, if applicable. • Line-management responsibility for the staff within his/her area of responsibility on eye level. • Personal contact with employees requires a regular on-site presence at the customer location, if possible • People management, workload management; ensuring the availability of the appropriate skills for processing managed services and project enquiries. • Manages, develops, motivates and coaches team of staff to help ensure the delivery of function and business targets and implements a performance management solution where required. • Assess situations, issues and opportunities and escalate when appropriate. • Responsible for managing budget/ P&L to maintain spend in line with budgetary limitations. • Ensuring the achievement of benchmark KPIs and P&L targets set by the company • Prompt, values-based communication of the service strategy and current (service) issues, as well as of relevant company information within own area • Ability to substitute other Technical Team Managers in other TRG teams in relation to all matters • Close cooperation with internal partners in order to win new, profitable business; provision of responsible support for the addressing of customers’ business requirements by allocating solutions and services from the entire TRG range of services. • Manage and implement projects with operational or strategic scope. • Maintain confidentiality in all business-related matters. • Build up and maintain productive relationships and networks on management levels of the relevant internal operational interfaces • Responsible for compliance with the business rules and processes that apply to the division. • Responsible for the adoption of CC best practice. Knowledge and Skills Essential: • University degree or comparable qualification. (Germany only) • Demonstrable success in managing an IT services teams. • Several years' experience of successfully managing staff. • Strong empathy and interpersonal skills. • An excellent level of knowledge and experience in relation to the coaching of staff. • fundamental understanding of the IT industry, and the ability to match our staff to customer requirements • A good level of business knowledge; an entrepreneurial way of thinking and acting. • The ability to effectively manage cost. • The ability to identify and manage critical success factors for the area of responsibility. • An excellent ability to think strategically; good problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication and personal presentation skills. • Excellent negotiation skills and good escalation management skills. • Team-oriented thinking and working; a good facilitator and motivator of teams. • A good ability to cope with pressure and a high degree of self-motivation; a high level of persistence and a good ability to get things done. • A good knowledge of spoken and written English. (Germany only) Desirable: • Experience with identifying and collaborating on project opportunities. • Experience of project management. • Experience of cooperating with the various CC (service) departments. • Service /Operation Management experience. • Experience of cooperating with IT manufacturers or personnel service providers. • Knowledge of IT standards such as ITIL and of current compliance regulations. • A healthy sense of optimism and sense of proportion. • Technical expertise (environment). • A good understanding of the internal and external market.
