We are now looking for a Funding and Benefits Officer to join our team on a full-time basis to help maximise the benefits and funding available for those we support. The Role As a Funding and Benefits Officer, you will provide efficient and effective funding and benefit support to those living with our Shared Lives Carers. Managing an allocated caseload for those living in our long-term services, you will provide benefit maximisation, financial assessments and corporate appointee ship services. You will also provide support in challenging incorrect award decisions where required. Additionally, your role will also involve: - Acting as the main point of contact for all enquiries regarding benefits and funding matters - Providing effective advice and ensuring excellent customer service at all times - Ensuring accurate records are kept for all benefits claimed and received - Calculating and reconciling appropriate payments for carers providing a long-term service About You To be considered as a Funding and Benefits Officer, you will need: - Experience working with benefits agencies and local authorities, requesting and appealing benefit awards and completing associated paperwork and processes - Sound knowledge of legislation, policy and practice relevant to welfare benefits for vulnerable adults - Computer literacy, including MS Office - Relevant training in managing welfare benefits - At a minimum, GCSEs in English and maths at grade C, or equivalent This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. Whilst based in Kingsteignton, you’ll travel across Cornwall and Somerset on occasion to spend time at our other offices. The closing date for this role is 9am Monday 7th February 2022, with interviews scheduled for the week commencing the 14th February 2022.
