Team Manager - Adolescent Service

About the Role You will be managing a team of Specialist Support Workers who hold a caseload of young people who are on the edge of going into care. This is a part time post of 18 hours where you will be job sharing with another manager. You will line manage staff, giving management guidance, support and advice You will quality assure work through ensuring there are robust assessments, plans and outcomes for families and young people You will attend strategy meetings focusing on high risk, complex adolescents offering specialist advice around improving outcomes You will use contextualised safeguarding concepts to support staff working with young people whose behaviour is putting them at risk of going into care You will work across partners in the borough including health, education, voluntary sector and others to create joint up plans to support young people About Us You will be joining an enthusiastic, friendly and supportive Service who puts families and young people at the heart of what they do. The Adolescent service is part of a wider service including the Early help team and Youth Justice Service. You will work closely with social care and the service is seen as an integral part of improving outcomes for young people and is widely valued. We are looking to increase our edge of care offer so we can offer more bespoke, intensive services to keep young people at home when we know their long term outcomes would be better and where safe to do so. The service consists of 2 other managers within the Adolescent team but 8 across the wider service so there is a great deal of support and expertise in the team. We believe in caring for our staff, being flexible to their needs, creating reflective spaces and developing our own with excellent opportunities for training. About You You will be passionate and experienced in understanding the needs and complexities around vulnerable adolescents. You will ideally have experience of managing staff with caseloads and understanding the pressures of overseeing numerous cases, offering supervision and supporting staff. You will be able to think creatively around support packages for families meeting their needs and being innovative with your approaches. You will have experience of being part of senior strategy meetings and representing your organisation in formal situations being confident with a range of partner agencies. You will be able to manage your own time effectively and be able to evidence outcomes, complete tasks within tight deadlines.
