RB Social Care are looking for Support Workers in Brede and Northaim, supporting adults with learning disabilities and associated needs, including sometimes behaviours that can challenge. We are looking for full time Support Workers, with a salary made up of £10.50 per hour with one sleep a week paid at £55. You will work on a rota, doing a mix of shifts - early 7.00am-2.30pm and lates 2.30pm-10pm, including every other weekend. It is an enormously rewarding job - lots of fun but hard work too. No two days are the same, and there can be challenges to be met and overcome, but it can also be fun and, more importantly, you will be making a real and positive difference to someones life each and every day. As a Support Worker you will be working in a residential unit, providing support and care to 6 individuals with a learning disability. Clients at this service have complex needs, so full support is required, including hoisting, assistive feeding and personal care (incontinence support). You will be an important and valued part of the team, providing excellent standards of support and care, working on a 1-to-1 basis with residents, helping them with all aspects of independent living and assisting with personal care. Typical duties might include: - Assisting clients with getting washed and dressed, preparing meals, prompting and assistance with taking medication Light household tasks Offering companionship and helping build clients confidence and independence You should have some experience of working with people with learning disabilities and Autism and understand that Clients sometimes communicate through behaviours, so demonstrating proactive and positive approaches is essential. Applicants should be a driver with own vehicle, as you need to get to site for 7am starts and late shifts finish at 10pm. Whilst we want applications from people who have previous experience of working in a similar environment, full training will be provided. The most important element for applicants is that they should be caring, compassionate & empathetic.
