We're recruiting a Team Leader who'll make our customers feel special, valued and cared for. You and your team will help them to not only discover our ‘feel good furniture' through an exemplary customer experience, but also listen and help find and sell the right furniture solution to meet their needs. Location: HSL Bathgate, 24 Glasgow Road, EH48 2AG Hours: Full Time: 35 hours per week Salary: £20,367, rising to £22,100 from 01/01/23. A day in the life of an HSL Team Leader As a Team Leader you'll motivate your team to passionately sell our lovingly handcrafted sofas, chairs and beds. You'll oversee a team who does this both at our beautiful showrooms or in our customers' own homes. You'll also be: Sharing your expert product and brand knowledge to help our customers to find the best furniture for them Motivating your team and encouraging them to exceed sales targets by providing the very best customer service Carrying out a chair fitting service to support 7 key areas of the body – expert sales and product training would be provided Encouraging a love and appreciation for our fantastic products by having extensive knowledge of what makes our furniture so special Plan and deliver regular training to develop a culture of improvement and a team of experts Managing the performance of the team through providing timely feedback and regular reviews, inspiring your team to exceed their objectives and sales targets Processing customer orders and ensuring your team are following internal procedures correctly Keeping our beautiful stores and products looking fresh, clean and welcoming Planning the schedules for the team to maximise sales opportunities Manage the communication of the team, keeping colleagues up to date with everything they need Be an active voice in the wider HSL family, sharing knowledge and feedback to encourage best practice Our stores are open every day, so it's important to you'll need have flexibility to work during at the weekend as well as weekdays. The Ideal Candidate You'll be a people person and have a passion for the customer experience and leading a team of wonderful colleagues to be the very best they can be. You'll love meeting new customers each day, listening to their needs, and you'll be great at helping them feel at ease quickly. You'll have empathy and compassion, and be an excellent listener. You'll be prepared to take accountability and responsibility for your role as a Team Leader. You' will be comfortable using data and commercial insights to drive your team's performance. You'll love listening to each customer, building trust in the products and the HSL brand. We want our customers to feel delighted with their visit, and you'll be pivotal to this. If you've got relevant retail experience with leading a team and helping customers find the right purchase, that's wonderful, but even if you haven't, we'd still love to hear from you if you're able to quickly build rapport with people.
