An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation. Our client, a leading global FMCG company with brands such as Domestos, Comfort, Persil & Tressemme, are currently looking for 10 Basic Operators to work in their prestigious facility in Port Sunlight. The initial assignment duration is 9 months, with training commencing throughout February in preparation for the shift start in March. The pay rate will be £16.85 an hour on basis of annualised 37.5 hours per week. Holidays (33 equivalent) are built into the shift pattern. Successful candidates will commence an operator training journey over the course of the assignment. Those who successfully complete the training journey will be raised to the subsequent pay banding as Machine Operators. Training is normally on days (7-3 or sometimes 8-4) for first couple of weeks, but when on shift the successful applicants will follow 5 crew pattern which is currently 2 x 12 hour days, 2 x 12 hour nights (all 5.30 - 5.30) followed by 6 off. During the "off" periods there is some requirement to be "on call" if absence cover is required. During April 2022 the shift pattern will go to 2 x 12 hour day, 2 x 12 hour nights (all 5.30 - 5.30) followed by 4 off. 2 x 18 day paid breaks over summer are built into the shift pattern. Applicants should be able to commit to working on a rotating week day shift pattern throughout the training period We are looking for highly motivated applicants, with the desire to practice and improve their technical skills and knowledge, and who possess excellent problem solving and analytic skills. Reporting to the shift First Line Leader, the successful applicant will have a pro-active approach to problem solving and fault finding on a high-speed production line to improve operational efficiency and drive area performance. With a positive attitude to change, they will be able to analyse technical/mechanical problems in the area, research, suggest, communicate and implement improvement ideas. The ideal candidate will have an appreciation for the importance of maintaining high quality and hygiene standards and will ensure that they comply with safety standards and adhere to site regulations. They will be a relationship builder, with the ability to communicate their opinionsboth verbally and in writing to colleagues and managers alike. They will work effectively within the team to achieve and exceed both factory and team targets set within the business. Key responsibilities Responsible for Objects, work, procedures, etc. Checking completed work to current site quality standards. Checking adherence to schedules. Understands benefits of achieving site KPI's. Creating good team spirit. Analysing/Integrating/Interpreting: Identifying problems in physical process/machinery. Breaking down a procedure into logical steps. Summarising numerical & verbal information. Reading plans/diagrams. Handling information: Entering details into system, ascertaining job requirements.Required Experience/Qualifications FLT licence advantageous but not essential Experience within a Production or Manufacturing environment or be able to demonstrate an educational background with Manufacturing or Engineering focus. Previous qualifications and experience within a mechanical or technical environment - advantageous but not essential. A good standard of IT literacy - highly desirable. Knowledge of SAP systems - beneficial
