A client of ours in the Harlow area are recruiting a Buyer to join their team. This is a full-time permanent position working a flexible 38.75 hour week and paying up to £35,000 per annum depending on experience. Your key duties in this Buyer role will include but are not limited to: Working with the Production Manager to forecast purchase requirements, and to set out timelines and delivery schedules with your assigned suppliers. Working within the Change Management framework, you will respond to Engineering Changes, and work with the suppliers to ensure a timely introduction of new/updated products. Negotiate price, payment terms, and delivery terms for assigned supplier base to meet overall business goals. Apply the same best practices to tender for the project and production-related procurement and prototypes. Identify, qualify, and set up of new suppliers, as needed, including price negotiation and service level definition. Using system-generated reports for minimum stock levels to raise new PO's and the report for late PO's to chase suppliers as required on lead times. Support with the purchase of sundry direct expense items for the business, and all equipment required for Office Staff and the R&D activities of the business. Arrange the Supplier Returns for any supplied goods which don't meet drawing requirements, according to the Goods-In team. During the NPD process, attend key Engineering meetings and design reviews, to ensure that all planned components are identified, and suppliers are in place to assure project timing requirements. Relating to Customs, on all incoming goods from overseas, you will request and review the C88 document, and verify that the value matches your purchase order. All C88's will be filed in accordance with HMRC requirements. Checking stock levels across our Australia, US and Europe warehouses, and ensuring that low stock alerts are monitored, updated and actioned. Using Excel and our inventory management software (Unleashed) to develop and manage forecasts for supplied goods, and present information to the senior management team. Skills and Experience required to be considered for this role: 2 years' experience in procurement, logistics distribution and supply chain. Excellent PC skills, with a particular focus on Excel. Experience in a fast-paced environment.
