Legal Assistant Job Purpose Working in our Personal Injury Complex Injury department, the Legal Assistant role is to support the Complex Injury file handling teams complete a variety of matter related, non-chargeable tasks on large loss, complex and catastrophic injury files. You will develop relationships with the file handling teams in order to best understa­­nd the needs of our clients to ensure we deliver excellent service. You will be required to work on your own initiative and with your team including prioritising your workload and dealing with urgent requests that are time specific. The role would particularly suit someone who has experience of working in a support role in a personal injury or other legal setting and gives new recruits the opportunity to learn about the work undertaken in a complex injury claims environment and gain practical knowledge and skills associated with that area of the law. Key Accountabilities Please note: this is an entry level role and full training on the below tasks will be given You will work as part of a team of Legal Assistants, supporting other teams within the department. The role will include: Prioritising tasks Building relationships with surrounding teams Handling of digital documents, schedules and our case management system. Carefully identifying and uploading documents to document sharing sites Manipulation of digital documents including the creation or management of large bundles. Downloading of digital files, separating and labelling documents. Review post identifying and flagging high risk items Digital post handling, distribution and filing. Handling, filing and, where appropriate, distributing digital media File closure process Fielding telephone calls and dealing with general queries Arranging payments where required. Liaising with the central admin team to ensure admin tasks are completed Liaising with the finance team in respect of invoices and client money. Working Hours This is a full time role, working Mon-Fri 9am - 5pm (35 hours per week) Essential Skills and Attributes: Minimum education standard of 5 GCSEs grades 5 or above or A-C Prior experience working in an administrative capacity Good communication skills with people at all levels of the business An ability to use own initiative Calm under pressure with the ability to organise and prioritise effectively to meet competing deadlines An ability to maintain attention to detail when dealing with repetitive tasks Good literacy and IT skills Good team worker with the flexibility to do what is required to get a result and ensure client service levels are met Ability to work effectively within the Keoghs shared values framework Values Our culture is focussed on making Keoghs sustainable and successful for our people and clients, with this our five values are at the heart of everything we do.
