We have an exciting opportunity available for an Alumni Engagement Manager to join our team. The Francis Crick Institute (the Crick) is a research institute dedicated to discovering the fundamental biology underlying human health, with the aim of improving the treatment, diagnosis and prevention of human disease. The Crick was formed on 1 April 2015 and is a registered charity. It is a partnership between the Medical Research Council (MRC), Cancer Research UK (CRUK), the Welcome Trust, University College London (UCL), Imperial College London and King’s College London. The Crick is located in a purpose-built research centre in central London (next to St Pancras International), housing some 1,250 researchers and 250 support staff. We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious Alumni Engagement Manager to lead the strategy development and day-to-day running of the CrickConnect platform, to help shape The Crick’s alumni relations strategy, and support the ongoing growth, career development and impact of the global Crick community. Responsibilities of our Alumni Engagement Manager: Leading on alumni engagement strategy development and activities Facilitating networking, collaboration, and mutual support across the CrickConnect community Cultivating and growing the network, including internal recruitment of current staff and students, external recruitment of lapsed alumni, and validating new registrations Supporting the Scientific Training and Career Development Lead to develop and deliver the career development programme for current staff and students Organising and administering the Crick’s monthly careers talk programme Tracking the next destinations for all Early Career Researcher alumni Managing and maintaining the Next Destinations Database, Working with the Head of Learning and Development to develop and deliver the Crick Mentoring Framework programme strategy Promoting the Mentoring Framework across the CrickConnect and wider Crick community, including recruiting new programme participants and volunteer mentors Collecting and reporting on feedback from participants and programme impact Skills and experience we are looking for in our Alumni Engagement Manager: Excellent organisation, administration and IT skills A proven track record of successfully planning and delivering projects to deadlines, working flexibly and effectively The ability to work pro-actively, demonstrating a high degree of initiative To be able to work independently, and collaboratively, as part of a team, and with different teams The ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels in an international setting Excellent communication skills, including the ability to collect, assimilate and present information and analysis clearly and in a compelling manner, both verbally and in writing, for various audiences, strategic communications and campaign planning.
