You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary from £37,000 to £42,000 per annum subject to skills & experience plus great benefits The HR Advisor role: As a HR Advisor , you will support the team across the full range of this activity. Your work will help to deliver a proactive and flexible HR service by providing relevant and appropriate HR support to all employees and non-employees at the Crick, whilst driving best practice and ensuring compliance with Institute procedures, policies and employment legislation. This position has no budget or management responsibilities. This is an ideal opportunity if you are interested in working in a dynamic HR team, as it offers a wide variety of HR Advisory responsibilities, as well as the opportunity to be part of one of the most significant UK biomedical science projects in a generation. The HR Advisory team is involved in a range of activities, including employee relations activity, annual performance and pay review, training and development including manager induction, management information, and policy and process improvement. Responsibilities of our HR Advisor will include: Providing general HR support and advice covering all employee lifecycle activity to both employees and managers, working in partnership with HR Services where relevant Leading on first line employee relations matters to ensure that all casework is managed in a fair and transparent manner. This will include absence management, capability, disciplinaries, grievances, flexible working, restructures and redundancies Undertaking and supporting relevant recruitment activity, including salary benchmarking, interviewing and support with writing job descriptions Managing all queries on maternity leave and other family-friendly policies, including meeting with individuals and providing support and advice before, during and after periods of leave Reviewing and developing policies and processes Reviewing and developing monthly and ad-hoc MI reporting, and work with the HR Partner to plan people interventions based on relevant data Contributing to annual HR processes such as performance development and salary reviews Monitoring monthly payroll actions with the relevant HR Co-ordinator, including fixed-term contract end dates Supporting and actively participating in HR projects to assist with the ongoing improvement of the HR offering; seeking opportunities to refine and streamline practice Maintaining appropriate levels of confidentiality at all times Skills and experience we are looking for in our HR Advisor: Experience providing HR advice at an HR Advisor level Experience of providing advice and an end-to-end service on maternity leave and other family-friendly leave Experience of providing HR support in running employee relations cases, in particular absence management, flexible working and disciplinary Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR policies and procedures Ability to balance high levels of accuracy with a high-paced environment Excellent interpersonal skills to form effective working relationships with a diverse employee population Flexibility and adaptability to be successful in a changing environment A focus on delivery with excellent time management skills Ability to work under pressure in a busy, changing and complex environment Proven written, numerical, communication and verbal skills Closing date : 4th October 2022, 23.59 If you feel you have the skills and experience to become our HR Advisor, please click apply today, wed love to hear from you All offers of employment are subject to successful security screening (including enhanced DBS check) and continuous eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
