As a Global EC Operations Manager you will join a team of experienced professionals in commodity procurement and advisory services supporting many of the largest organizations in the world with global procurement of Energy Attribute Certificates (RECs, GOs, I-RECs, etc.) and Carbon Offsets (VERs). In this position you will be responsible for the European GOs market and the Asian I-RECs market. This position engages with our Global Cleantech Client Development and Sales teams in providing strategy and solutions to end users and in doing so engages both internally and externally with key stakeholders. This effort may involve single location procurement events or the development of complex and ongoing go-to-market global processes. All these efforts in support of clients renewable energy and carbon reduction goals are aligned with industry best practices as defined by the relevant NGO guidance in conjunction with the clients internal strategic criteria. In addition, this position supports our internal administration of contracts, document management, database management and other internal systems. Life Is On what about you? Your responsibilities: You will lead and support client strategic planning and implementation of Scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon abatement via purchase, registration, and retirement of various environmental commodities including GOs, REGOs, VERs, IRECs, and local market equivalent(s). Further, you will also deliver and support environmental commodity procurement and transactions. Here you will engage globally with renewable energy certificate sellers, carbon offset sellers, carbon reduction project developers and other market participants in identifying solutions for Schneider clients with specialized focus on European and Asian markets. You will also get involved into business development activities by supporting our teams across the world in understanding options and strategies for environmental commodity procurement. In this position you will also work directly with clients in advisory service positioning , offer presentation and delivery of in-person and remote sustainability and environmental commodity workshops, as well as delivery of renewable energy and carbon reduction opportunity assessments. You will also design and launch RFIs and RFPs on behalf of our clients and evaluate RFP responses by developing presentation materials from supplier responses. Further, you will also act as an advocate within NGO and other external market participants by ensuring our clients needs are well represented within decision making bodies globally including sustainability reporting platforms (RE100, CDP, SBTI), key sustainability NGOs (WRI, WBCSD, WWF) and carbon market players (Verra, CAR, Gold Standard). About You: The ideal candidate has completed a bachelors degree or higher and can demonstrate a proven track record in the Corporate Sustainability and Environmental Commodities markets, preferably within the following fields: Renewable Energy and/or Carbon Offset consulting , trading, or project development and management. EAC & VER procurement , chain of custody tracking, certification, registry management, monetization, arbitrage, etc. Corporate Sustainability strategy , planning, program development and execution, public disclosure and reporting. Project certification under leading global standards. You should have the ability to collaborate and work effectively within an international and dynamic team environment. Previous professional experiences within energy procurement and/or strategy experience in renewables (off-site PPA, Distributed Generation etc.) are advantageous. We are looking for a candidate with strong presentation skills both in developing client facing materials and delivering presentations. You must have strong negotiation skills and interpersonal persuasiveness. Fluency in English is required, additional European languages are advantageous (Hungarian, Italian, Spanish etc.) Some travel required to support business development and client delivery (approximately 5-10%).
