The Deeside site, which is based in Sandycroft, specialises in the production of plastic products for the consumer and chemical industries using blow and injection moulding technology and currently have opportunity a highly motivated Mechanical/Tooling Technician who wish to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a thriving, fast paced environment for a company that continue to remain at the forefront of their industry. Duties and Responsibilities General maintenance work including cleaning and polishing tools Maintain, repair, modify and improve production related tooling (both injection moulds and blow moulds) to maintain and improve efficiency, reliability and quality Investigate and resolve tool related problems Compile maintenance records for each tool to provide detailed history of work carried out Identify root causes of technical related problems to provide effective countermeasures Justify and recommend changes to product design, components, tooling or associated equipment Experience & Skills required You must be self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative. The role will be hands-on and will give you an opportunity to use your knowledge and experience to positively contribute to a busy production department. The preferred candidate will possess the following attributes: Exposure to and understanding of tool making within the Plastics industry Knowledge of tool design and understanding of tool drawings Capable of working to high tolerances, within a precision engineering environment Understanding of key process techniques (Injection and Blow Moulding) Must be able to communicate effectively with external toolmakers on repairs and new tooling.
