As a Systems Engineer, you will be working as part of a multi-disciplined team to achieve project objectives. The purpose of the role is to provide embedded software, PC application software and IP network design for Nuclear and High Temperature product. Location: Farnborough Tittle: Software Systems Engineer Engineer Salary: £45,000/annum Main Responsibilities Electronic Design and integration with other Design specialities, such as mechanical design and software development. Creating circuit topologies, schematics, PCB layouts, drawings. Design for manufacture ensuring products are safe, reliable, and meet required industry standards. Assess design compliance and prepare Technical Construction Files for product compliance verification. Design and implementation of test rigs for design verification and functional testing. Conducting design evaluations, verifications and proving trials, such as radiation trials. Generating reports, test specifications and verification procedures, manuals, and master data within the ERP system (Item data, BOMs, Routes). Participation in Design reviews with internal and external customers. Providing peer checks within the design release process. Preparing cost sheets (material and labour costs) and technical commentary for Sales Enquires. Incorporating Component Change Requests, Design Change Requests and performing robust Root Cause Analysis and Lessons Learned. Liaison with subcontract manufacturers and Quality Assurance providers for design support or certification and qualification purposes. Providing technical support for internal customers, such as procurement, production, and test departments. Support staff training to ensure there is no single point failures. Participation in continuous improvement initiatives as necessary Qualifications and Experience Essential 5 years experience Ideally qualified to a minimum degree level in relevant field (or equivalent experience) Experience of programming using Assembly language, C / C++ and Visual basic .net Experience of real time control including motor control and thermal control algorithms Experience of installation, configuration and operation of video management systems Milestone, Bosch, Indigo Vision Good and demonstrable knowledge of EMC Compliance and safety Excellent communication skills, time management and organisational skills Desirable Understanding of cameras, optics, lenses, light wavelengths, and thermal radiation. Understanding of nuclear fission radiation types, units, and effects on materials/electronic components. Experience of preparing cost sheets for Sales Enquires. Experience in Nuclear and High temperature applications. Membership of an Engineering institute. Experience of Digital and analogue electronics and FPGA design. Experience of using of VHDL and Xilinx. FPGA test bench generation and simulation. SC Clearance. Ability to be an occasional Radiological worker. ECITB site passport
