Job Description Reporting to the project team leader; depending on experience you will either support or be responsible for the delivery of key project objectives to bring the system to market on time and to cost and quality requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams in software and hardware development, as well as with project and functional management. Previous fuel injection equipment, system integration and calibration or engine-related calibration experience preferable, however graduate engineers will also be considered. Salary - £40,000 to £70,000 per annum depending on experience Location Gillingham, Kent Job purpose A number of exciting opportunities have arisen within the calibration team as the company accelerates its clean and energy-efficient propulsion systems. We serve an international customer base with state-of-the-art technologies and you will form part of a team who are working on an industry-first hybrid fuelling system. Key responsibilities Technical feature calibration for advanced systems towards meeting performance and international legislative requirements Plan, execute and evaluate system performance measurements on bench, engine dynamometer, performance rigs, vehicles and in climate chamber Project manage calibration builds towards internal testing and evaluation and customer release Define system performance targets Support the Team Leader as appropriate in dealing with customers and cross-functional teams Represent the calibration function as a key input into System Integration Characterise existing and new products Compile technical reports and presentations for review with senior stakeholders Support the software team in developing control strategies, and developing efficient and effective designs solutions in order to meet system performance requirements Support Hazard analysis, FMEA and fault tree analysis Develop calibration guidelines for internal and customer use Develop rigorous and robust calibration and sign-off procedures Provide technical expertise during customer meetings On or Offsite customer support as necessary What we’re looking for Educated to a minimum of degree level in Mechanical/Electrical/Automotive Engineering/ Mathematics or similar Depending on seniority, an in-depth appreciation or knowledge of, or a minimum 5 years’ calibration development experience in a powertrain development environment Sound mechanical understanding of fuel injection equipment and fluid dynamics desirable Understanding of hydraulic systems desirable Self-starter and proactive and results driven Ability to work under pressure and manage several tasks concurrently Strong communication skills being able to communicate clearly via email, reports and presentations Continuous improvement and quality mind-set, and attention to detail Structured quality disciplines such as Six Sigma desirable Strong organisation skills Strong coaching/mentoring skills Experience with calibration processes and tool-chains such as ATI Vision, ETAS Inca, AVL CRETA desirable What we offer 27 days holiday bank holidays Long service holiday (if applicable) Working hours are 37 each week (flexi hours are available after Probation subject to agreement) Pension Scheme Dental plan Onsite parking Staff discount with selected retails wellbeing platforms Discounted gym membership at Roko On Site Gym (£10 per Month) Subsidised canteen Friendly working environment
