If the answer to the above questions is yes, we may have the perfect opportunity for you EMBS Engineering has been tasked with identifying a skilled CAD CAM Engineer / Programmer to join a world-renowned, market-leading precision engineering company in Nottinghamshire on a permanent basis. Our client has a global footprint, working with some of the biggest aerospace customers and due to continued growth within their engineering department, they are looking to invest in a talented individual who is looking for an opportunity where they can work with complex parts, use modern manufacturing techniques, latest software and have the stability and longevity which will allow them to excel and progress further within the business. The chosen individual will support the business by creating offline programs for both new projects and also reverse engineering existing parts which are then to be machined by CNC Milling &/OR Turning machines. You will be involved in designing jigs & fixtures, proving out programs, providing technical support to shopfloor machinists and help identify new areas for improvement. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to; Work with 2D and 3D Cad packages - Catia and Unigraphics Perform Sheet Metal Drafting and 3D Modelling Work on 2D nesting packages – Radan Compliance to customer product requirements and process controls related to standards and specifications to define inspection drawings/requirements Work closely with the Engineering and production teams to ensure that Cad Programs are utilising shop floor best practices Develop new solutions to existing manufacturing problems Ensure manufacturing processes, procedures, engineering specs and workflows are adequate to define manufacturing requirements Provide support to the shop floor to resolve queries or issues in achieving capable processes or supporting process improvements Define requirements for production concepts - work with Sub-Contractors to define best practices for any required tooling. Lead / Manage Continuous Improvement projects Support with new bid activities and NPI Successful applicants MUST be able to demonstrate: Strong CAD CAM Programming background Performed similar duties in the capacity of - CAD CAM Programmer, CAD CAM Engineer, Offline Programmer, NC Programmer, CNC Programmer, Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, Applications Engineer Knowledge of CAD CAM packages - ideally Catia V5 or Unigrpahics but other softwares will be considered Ability to use Vericut would be advantageous however, training can be provided Knowledge of simulation software / proving out programs Previous online programming experience on CNC Milling &/OR Turning machines Exposure to Mill Turn Machines would be hugely beneficial Ability to perform reverse engineering on existing parts in order to identify improved manufacturing processes Exposure / involvement with Continuous Improvement processes In return, our client is offering; Stability / Longevity - Permanent position Competitive salary - £38,000 - £42,000 p.a (depending on experience) Modern working environment Additional benefits available include; cycle to work scheme, company car scheme (salary sacrifice), company bonus, death in service plus much more.
