The Opportunity The Customer Support & Training Bids and Proposal team offer a focal point capability to provide accurate, deliverable and sustainable bids and proposals to the business, supported by a flexible and robust approvals process. The team is focused on ensuring on time delivery and definition of competitive proposals, including statements of work, in response to Customers’ Request for Proposals, through coordinating the inputs from CS&T functional areas and applying an internal approval process to ensure their compliance with the requirements and senior management endorsement as required. The primary purpose of this role is to manage the preparation of UK CS&T bids and proposals to maximise order intake. Acting in as a team lead to provide specialized skills and knowledge of bid and proposal development and delivery. You will be required to deploy and apply your knowledge and expertise to perform your daily tasks; you will comply with processes and standards as defined in the COS and Functional Manual, and in accordance with applicable contractual, regulatory, and/or legislative procedures and controls. You will demonstrate compliance through appropriate controls and adequate record keeping and documentation. You will plan your tasks and make the best use of available resources to effectively minimise/reduce the cost. Conduct and discharge tasks and projects to agreed quality and you will endeavour to meet planned time and budget requirements. You shall be responsible for delivering the assigned request for proposal, coming from the BU or other source, and assist in the preparation of all the necessary documents in the required format(s), collecting all the information, costs / prices from the relevant departments of Customer Support & Training. What you will do You will work as a member of the UK CS&T Bids & Proposals team responsible for: CS&T contributions to all Bids and Proposals delivered through the business On-going Service Proposals preparation when not based on standard price list / commercial conditions CS&T proposals which are integrated in new Helicopter Sales Governance of all CS&T proposals for economic and delivery schedule validation Support the Business Units during the Contract Negotiation Phase. As a CS&T Bids & Proposals Senior Project Officer you shall: Provide guidance and knowledge to members of the team in order to foster capability development across the business to strengthen the effectiveness of CS&T submissions Produce the nominated business reports assigned by your Line Manager and to provide regular updates Act as the proposal lead for nominated campaigns delivering services associated with UK products and UK managed customers/products. In these instances you will be responsible for: Management of the support bid & proposal programme in an efficient and effective manner to meet agreed performance targets and business requirements. Analysis of customer requirements (including RFP, RFQ, AoA, etc.) and ensure dissemination thereof to all dependant, or contributory departments or major business functions for evaluation and input Collation of costs received from functional areas, and formalization of functional and senior management authorizations to ensure the Proposal can be submitted to the business. Collation of functional area submissions, and assessment thereof to ensure compliance of submission with original request. Maintain regular interface with stakeholders to define and agree bid/proposal requirements and ensure development of the Bid/Proposal meets the Customer’s expectation and business objectives. Manage the provision of required support bid & proposal deliverables in accordance with business schedule. Support the BU during the contract negotiations phase as required, managing changes from the submitted proposal, finalising the Contract both in-house and at the Customers' premises Support CS&T management post contract with the validation of costs / content flow-down from the business to the functional areas Where significant problems are, or are likely to be, incurred in delivery against the requirements, identify both the issues and potential solutions to your Line Manager, working with that manager to agree and implement appropriate corrective actions Assist your Line Manager to identify and manage priorities and any conflicts, resource requirements and budget requirements. Assisting your Line Manager and other senior managers in the preparation of reports and presentational material as appropriate within the scope of the team’s responsibility. Undertaking additional duties as assigned by the Bids and Proposals Manager and which are consistent with the nature of this role. Alternatively to have completed a period of employment in New Business development, acquisition and proposals, preferably within the support arena, sufficient to gain the necessary practical experience for the job role Keyboard skills, a working knowledge of computers and computer system applications Interpersonal and written communication skills, the ability to make sound assessments/judgements based on knowledge and experience, self-motivated and able to work as part of an integrated team Knowledge of the Company organisation, quality processes, operating procedures, and financial/commercial processes Ability to assess complex requirements and articulate them to the necessary stakeholders within the business Ability to develop close business relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the business structure Have an understanding of engineering and helicopter systems operations.
