Mech Tech Professionals is actively recruiting for a Welder Fabricator for our established engineering client in Avonmouth . This position is offered on a permanent basis and will be workshop based. This role would suit candidates who are looking for a long term permanent opportunity with various shop based projects Reporting to the Construction Manager, the key objective of the role will be to ensure product is delivered in line with documented procedures and standards. Key requirements of the role will include: Competent in welding carbon and stainless steel using manual SMAW, GTAW, semi-automatic, GMAW or MIG or MAG, and FCAW welding processes in all modes and directions Ability to work from detailed engineering drawings Ability to follow weld procedures, relevant quality procedures and assist with quality records and documentation Maintain equipment and small tools for assembly / welding / calibration Ensure that works are carried out safely and all health & safety procedures are checked prior to starting projects Show competence with the contents of this Risk Assessment and Method Statements and Permits to Work Attend, participate in and periodically lead Toolbox Talks Attend any HSE training, meetings, etc. as requested. Ensure that tools, equipment, and materials brought into and used in the area are fully checked and are compliant with HSE requirements. Ensure that no work is carried out unless supported by the relevant specific Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Work Permits. Carry out periodic HSE inspections in the area. Ensure that all incidents and near misses are reported To be considered for this position, candidates must hold the following qualifications and technical skills/ experience: NVQ Level 3 Welding Engineering Time served / apprenticeship trained CITB Operatives Test CCSNG & ACE Card (Blue) Experience of TIG/MIG/MAG welding Experience in fabrication of Stainless-steel equipment Ability to read and understand detailed CAD drawings Successful completion of trade test is required for the role City & Guilds Medium Confined Space Level 2 (desirable) IOSH Managing Safely (desirable) NVQ Level 3 Occupational Work Supervision (desirable) Fundamental understanding EN ISO/ASME welding standards Used to working in a production and engineering environment Experience of supervising site activities and subcontractors Knowledge of current Health & Safety regulations To be suitable for the role you must be comfortable working in a team and work calmly under pressure. A SAFETY CRITICAL MEDICAL WILL BE REQUIRED FOR CONFINED SPACE ENTRY, WORKING AT HEIGHT AND THE WELDING OPERATIONS Hours of Work: Monday Thursday (7.30 16.30) Friday (7.30 14.00) Mech Tech Professionals is operating as an Employment Agency.
