Manufacturing Engineer - Electrical biased Silverstone Permanent Our client is a British company that designs and builds highly innovative, affordable, and reliable propulsion motors for a broad range of electric vehicles from scooters to buses. They have undertaken rigorous R&D and testing for an innovative, unique motor design, with low-cost raw materials, designed for low-cost, automated assembly. They are now moving to new state of the art premises at Silverstone where they will commence high volume manufacture. As a result of this expansion we are now looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with assembly systems and some electrical experience to work on a number of advanced manufacturing projects in a fast-paced production environment, working to tight deadlines and to exceptional standards. Key experience and responsibilities: 5 years relevant experience in manufacturing with in the automotive or comparable sector Ideally have an HND / Degree in A utomotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering / Production Engineering or similar Excellent knowledge of CI / Lean manufacturing processes to help improve performance The ability to p rovide engineering feedback to design and production teams to reduce cost and improve efficiency of component assembly Experience of manufacturing assembly operations involving manual, semi-automated and automated processes, with electrical experience Experience of both p roduction and assemble methods and how this can improve quality, timeframes and costings as production is scaled up The ability to help train staff in Lean/Six Sigma/CI tools and techniques Liaise with maintenance staff on the commissioning of new plant innovation Design, manufacture and/or specification of tools and fixtures for processes Work closely with design team to ens ure all processes are documented in PDM and ERP systems Knowledge of a range of manufacturing systems and production processes would be advantageous, such as Kaizen / Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Advanced Quality Product Planning and Plant Approval Processes This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team and make a difference within an expanding market leading organisation, as such an excellent salary of £45k-£55k is offered for the right experience.
