Teaching Assistant for PRU ABOUT THE SCHOOL Prospero Teaching is looking for an experienced, motivated and resilient Teaching Assistant/Youth Worker to support students in a PRU school in Gloucester. The school caters for pupils 11-16 who are aiming for successful reintegration to a new mainstream school or leading into employment or further education. Students can seem quite disengaged in their studies and need support staying on task. Located in Gloucester the school is easily accessed from the motorway. The position is open to all experienced those you have a background in youth work, sports coaching, support work or have any other experience of mentoring children and young adults. Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position. CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS Location - Gloucester (GL2) Position - Youth Worker/Teaching Assistant Type of work - Classroom support Contract or position start date - ASAP Duration / Likely Duration - Ongoing Contract or position end date (if applicable) - July 2023 Contract type (temp/perm/temp to perm) - Temporary - Permanent Full time/part time - Full time Minimum rate of pay - £75-90 per day Hours - 8:30 am - 3.30pm : Mon - Fri (term time only) EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS Previous experience in a similar setting LEVEL 2 Teaching Assistant/or equivalent and above is preferable GCSE Maths and English and Computer literate Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST: Hold Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years OTHER If you would like to be considered for this role, please apply with a copy of your up to date CV.
