Aspiring Psychologist/Therapist job route 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Reading - ASAP SEN Teaching Assistant required for a school in Reading - Support students with their Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties in the classroom 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant required for a secondary school student This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring Psychologists or Therapists looking for experience within the SEN sector. If you can built relationships quickly, work well under pressure and can adapt to any situation then we want to hear from you. This position is in Reading, Berkshire where you will be 1:1 support for a student who has learning needs as well as some mental health difficulties. These difficulties can be in the form of issues with behaviour and need to be out of the classroom. The SEN Teaching Assistant will be responsible for ensuring no work is missed with this student and find creative and innovative ways to educate and engage the pupil when their mental health and learning needs get in the way of progression. This role would be ideal for an upcoming Psychology graduate who is interested in a career in education or psychology, as there will be opportunities to shadow and work alongside Educational psychologists, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists. Job role: - ASAP start/September -1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant -£70-£80 per day -Reading, Berkshire -Shadow Psychologists and Therapists -Training provided where required -Secondary school -Meet like - minded educators -Work with a supportive team The ideal candidate will be compassionate and should share the progressive and strong ethos and morals of the school that empower diversity. Your role as the SEN teaching assistant will allow you to be responsible for managing behavior as well as creating differentiated resources to support the learning needs of each pupil. The SEN Teaching Assistant will ideally have a degree in a related field or have experience working with young people. Some of these children will have faced trauma and anxiety so someone dedicated, patient and resilient to take up the post. The pressures of exams can impact the mental health of students in Secondary, someone who understands these needs and it is essential that the right candidate is able to keep a student engaged in their lesson and education.
