The Supply register are delighted to be working in partnership with trusts across the East Midlands to recruit Cover Supervisors to join our bank staff To be included in our next Cover supervisor training on 23rd or 24th August - Can you answer yes to any of the below? Are you an Unqualified Teacher? Are you a Tutor? Are you a sports Coach? Do you train students in Drama and Dance? Have you delivered training to adults? Do you have a Degree in a specialist subject? Are you a scout/Brownies or Guide Leader? Do you have the ability to lead? Are you a good role model? If you answered yes to any of the above than you will have the transferable skills to be a cover supervisor …. We are holding 2 Cover Supervisor training days on the following dates: 23rd August 2022 – at Cubo Work Derby 24th August 2022 –at Cubo Work Nottingham When we recruit for these roles, we aren't looking for a set experience or background but we are looking for dedication, motivation & a passion for working with young people. Our current bank of staff are all from different backgrounds Some examples are: University students, Ex-Police Officers, Dance / Drama specialists, Support Workers, Charity Workers, Sports Coaches, Lifeguards, Youth Mentors, Counsellors, Learning & Development Trainers, Youth Workers. This list isn't limited & an individual’s key skills are what we are really looking for What is the role of a Cover Supervisor? As a Cover Supervisor, you will be acting as the replacement for the main class teacher. This could be for one day, or on a long term & on-going basis. You will therefore be responsible for delivering the lesson content for each lesson. What are the main roles & responsibilities? 1) Supervise classes - Supervise students in the classroom 2) Prepare the learning environment – As you will be standing in from the class teacher, it is your responsibility to prepare the learning environment if required. The planning for the lessons will be provided to you but you should ensure that you have everything required and that the classroom is ready for the students. 3) Behaviour Management – De-escalating behaviour and using the School’s behaviour policy consistently. 4) Answer questions about the lesson – You are not expected to be a subject specialist but students will naturally have some questions, you should always answer these as best as you can. 5) Supervise entry and departure of students - Collecting any work completed after the lesson and returning it to an agreed person/place 6) Leaving the classroom how you would expect to find it – Please encourage the students to do this with you and ensure that the classroom is in good order at the end of the lesson/day 7) Recording attendance – It is very important to record and reporting attendance at lessons in accordance with school policy 8) Reporting any issues throughout the day – You should make notes & keep track of your day as reporting back, using the schools agreed referral procedures, on the behaviour of the pupils during the class and any other issues arising is important 9) Dealing with immediate problems or emergencies according to schools policies/procedures Dealing with immediate problems or emergencies – i.e first aid, fights, fire etc. Why Should You Apply?
