JOB TITLE: Loss Prevention Specialist REPORTS TO: Loss Prevention Manager: EU Logistics & Head Office Job Purpose: Primarily responsible for protecting the company’s assets including Associates, Merchandise, and Property. Provides a safe and secure environment for our employees, customers and visitors through the implementation of Company Loss Prevention strategies, whilst protecting company assets, identifying exposures and highlighting opportunities to reduce loss. Based at the Campus, the role will collaborate with the EU Loss Prevention Team in Stores and Head Office and provide support and assistance to on site management. Duties and Responsibilities: Provide Loss Prevention and security education and awareness to campus staff and participate in training sessions promoting loss awareness. Perform daily, weekly and monthly routines and processes e.g. site security equipment inspections (gate house, exterior lighting, perimeter fencing), Loss Prevention audits, maintenance and repair of physical security systems (e.g. alarms, access control, CCTV) and make recommendations for improvements as appropriate. Conduct daily scheduled and random searches on URBN employees, contractors and visitors as well as lockers and vehicles across the Campus, to promote a culture of trust and deter dishonesty. Support the Campus management team with any Loss Prevention/security issues that arise and communicate these in a timely manner. Integrate with the Loss Prevention function across the wider business, to share best practice, identify common risks and opportunities and support with investigations/operations as required to provide a bespoke “end to end” Loss Prevention service to URBN Europe. Investigate allegations of theft and conduct loss control interviews on staff. Work closely with the Tech Team, HR Team and Team Managers to maintain all processes and systems across Campus which support safety & security. Provide support with investigations as required. Establish good working relationships with the Campus team, Field Loss Prevention & Retail Operations teams in order to educate others on site issues and incident resolution. Actively identify risks and common trends and suggest any opportunities or solutions to improve the safety & security of our people & product. Establish relationships with 3PL partners and liaise in respect of the security of inbound/outbound merchandise movement and goods in storage. Ensure all inbound and outbound vehicles are properly handled at the gate house and in the trailer yard and conduct random searches of 3PL transportation. Assist in any emergency events as necessary e.g. evacuation of the premises and take lead role where required. Identify any H&S risks to Associates and reports any unsafe working practices. Highlights to campus management any building issues requiring maintenance. Establish and maintain relationships with local law enforcement and other government agencies/local authorities in relation to legal stands and criminality. Oversee/arrange 3rd party guarding cover as required. Respond to out of hours incidents by being part of on call rota. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed: Have good understanding and experience with transferable skills of URBN DC processes, including goods in, receiving, administration and distribution procedures. An understanding of current and innovative Loss Prevention techniques with previous experience working in a similar role related to safety and security within a warehousing/distribution environment. Certificate or training related to safety and security at work e.g. Loss Prevention, Risk Assessments, First Aid, Fire Marshal, IOSH, NEBOSH etc. Good I.T. skills with knowledge of security systems & technology e.g. intruder/ fire alarms, CCTV, etc. Good communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and influence colleagues and customers at all levels. Able to maintain a calm and respectful manner always, especially under pressure, and the ability to provide clear written statements and reports in the event of any incidents. Flexible approach to the role with the ability to work evenings and weekends as required. Shift work weekly patterns: 5.30am-2.30pm / 2.30pm -10.30pm/ 10.30am-6.30pm and rotational 5 nights once a month. Hours maybe subject to change based on business operational demands.
