Risk & Opportunity Manager 037318 Organisation - Head of PMO Job - Project Management Position Type - Full Time Location: Stratford / Remote Salary: Circa 50,000 depending on Skills, Knowledge and Experience Overview of role This is an opportunity to work as part of a team of 20 risk professionals, right at the heart of the projects and programmes in TfL’s Capital Delivery Portfolio. As a Risk and Opportunity Manager, you will be part of a central PMO from where you may be deployed across multiple assignments across multiple projects at different lifecycle phases whilst fully supported by a team of senior risk managers. Whilst our focus is on key risk management interventions, we are also constantly working to improve our processes, culture and presence within the business which involves working on priority improvement initiatives. Key Accountabilities You will be responsible for risk interventions, business as usual activities and embedding a culture of best practice risk management. As part of this you will undertake early stages risk estimates, facilitate risk workshops, ensure robust risk assessments are carried out, encourage effective mitigation strategies and ensure timely reports are produced at various levels across the business. Alongside this, you will work with key stakeholders to ensure that the right risks have been captured and analysed to inform credible quantitative risk analysis outputs. We’re looking for someone who has an extensive understanding of capital projects and programmes of significant value. This does not need to be exclusive to the transport industry. You should also be a good influencer, who is able to motivate teams and key stakeholders on the benefits of risk management. Skills, Knowledge & Experience Skills Good influencing skills to manage and motivate teams in and outside of directorate and embed Risk Management methodology and process in support of delivery of high risk, value and complex project and programmes. Specific technical skills include: - Risk/Opportunity and Issue Management (Advanced Level) - Essential - Information Management and Reporting (Intermediate Level) - Stakeholder Management (Advanced Level) - Essential - Project Governance (Intermediate Level) - Compliance and Assurance Management (Intermediate Level) - Quantitative Risk Analysis (Advanced Level) - Essential - Frameworks and Methodologies (Advanced Level) - Risk Workshop Facilitation (Advanced Level) - Essential - Schedule Risk Analysis (Advanced Level) - Essential Knowledge Extensive knowledge of and understanding of capital projects and programmes with an emphasis on Risk Management & benchmarking and how this supports and integrates with a wider high functioning environment - Essential Good knowledge and understanding of project and programme management methodologies and their practical application in a transport setting Excellent knowledge and understanding of risk & opportunity management frameworks, tools and techniques in a project and programme management setting - Essential Understanding of TfL project and programme management methodologies and processes Good knowledge of UK legislation and best practice, particularly in relation to risk management Professional Qualification in Project Management, Risk Management or equivalent - Experience Experience of creating, adapting and monitoring process around Risk Management in major project and experience of implementing tools to support changes - Essential Experience of dealing with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the organisation influencing improving process to support project delivery - Essential Proven record of taking personal responsibility and accountability for implementing risk & opportunity management frameworks to ensure delivery of major programmes / projects in a large, complex organisation.
