Development Control Technician (full or part time) (training provided) Industry: Civil Engineering Location: Isle of Wight Hours: full time 8.30am - 5pm ( may be flexible), part time 9am - 2pm (may be flexible) Days: Monday - Friday Duration: Temp to Perm Duties: Liaison with local authority, members of the public, developers and agents. Assessment and processing of highways elements of planning applications. Undertaking site visits. Attend and provide representation at Local Authority Development Control Committee and Planning Appeals. Assessment and processing of highway agreement applications. Management of details records for all schemes including legal agreements, financial bonds, commuted sums and fees. Provide technical reviews and analysis of junction capacity, safety and network management implications of scheme drawings. Assist in the maintenance of highways adoption records. Assist in the delivery of highways search and property/street naming and numbering processes. Experience: Highways or planning of CDM knowledge is an advantage, however industry training will be provided. Degree level qualification is preferred but must have a good standard of education. Must have compliance experience a good technical aptitude and excellent attention to detail. Must have report writing experience and good computer skills. Must have effective communication and decision making skills and also be comfortable with public speaking. Must have a full driver's licence.
