Introduction My client is a high-growth, well-capitalised business in the building products industry. They are publicly traded with a global network of offices and have cultivated a culture of innovation where their people are encouraged to think differently and challenge the status quo. Entering a new phase of growth, they are now seeking to hire a Director of Strategy & M&A to oversee a strategy review in addition to leading on all inorganic growth initiatives. This is a dynamic role with significant exposure to the European and global senior leadership team and will provide an opportunity to work on the highest impact projects. Principal Responsibilities Reporting into the CEO and as part of the Senior EMEA leadership team, the person will be responsible for: Develop, refine and articulate business strategies for internal stakeholders, and help implement key initiatives Perform company and industry specific research and analysis, identifying opportunities and trends in our markets and industry Help develop and maintain long term organic and inorganic growth pipeline, harnessing market research, internal experts, and competitive intelligence Build and cultivate acquisition target list, including opportunity identification, strategic fit assessment, and relationship building Provide execution support for M&A transactions, including project management and engagement with external service providers (including investment banks, consulting firms, and financial advisors) Assist executive leadership in shaping important corporate communication The Person Reporting into the CEO, the person should have: At least 5 years’ experience gained in a top tier strategy consulting house, having worked on various relevant client assignments during the time in consulting, including a number of commercial due diligence projects. Possibly experience in a large corporate or private equity environment Some M&A/ CDD experience is essential Must possess excellent critical thinking skills, be highly organised and able to handle multiple projects at one time. Strong attention to detail is required Excellent communication skills, both in written and verbal form, and the ability to present to and engage with senior leaders Act as a representative of the business to prospective merger and acquisition targets, possess strong interpersonal skills and a desire to engage prospective M&A candidates Demonstrated ability to prepare business case analytics that drive executive-level decision making Must be a motivated, enthusiastic self-starter with a desire to grow and take on new topics
