The Cost Improvement Manager role plays a critical part in delivering the Mayors Transport Strategy, and with the impact of COVID 19 this role is more critical than ever before in supporting the organisation to achieve financial sustainability. The Asset Performance and Capital Delivery Directorate's key objective is to improve the operating performance of the underground assets whilst maintaining the safety of our people, stakeholders and the travelling public. Job Purpose: We have an exciting opportunity as a Cost Improvement Manager within Asset Performance & Capital Delivery. The role requires you to support identifying opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and better outcomes for the organisation. Skills Advanced level of data analysis including managing large data sets to create insight, value and problem solving Ability to communicate and influence stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes Excellent Planning & Organising - use available resources to plan activities well in advance and flagging risks to delivery Results focused - must demonstrate a ‘can do’ attitude to performance and put drive and energy into achieving results Natural team player able to work effectively in a matrix environment Proficient with estimating, cost planning processes, techniques and interfaces with Finance systems Understanding of financial governance and its application at all levels of the business Experience of driving through process improvements to support cost management objectives Systems experience including advanced Excel, Visio and SAP Key Deliverables : Manage relationship between Business, Finance and Modernisation Manager to deliver cost savings, efficient processes, increased automation and standardisation Production of financial and business analysis that drives business cases which support financial targets and budget/business planning process Management of financial and non-financial data within SAP to ensure effective budget planning and cost control management Production of management information and reports to track saving initiatives delivery Drive continuous improvement and compliance ensuring accurate baseline, clear scope and targeted improvement Ensure LEAN processes are implemented and delivered Track third party spend and support the business in its supplier and contract management activities, in particular flagging spend deviation and savings opportunities Equality and Diversity We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity.
