Management Accountant Immediate start (Fixed term contract) until January 2023 Salary £35,000 - £40,000, dependent on experience 37 hours per week flexible working. Minimum of 1 day per week on site. Due to restructure, we have an opportunity for a qualified Management Accountant to work for an established not-for-profit housing association based in Luton. Our client will consider part qualified for the right candidate if you have a wealth of practical experience. Responsibilities: Maintaining the computerised payroll system and its confidentiality, preparing monthly payroll calculations, ensuring salary payments are made on time and the completion of annual payroll returns to the relevant statutory bodies. Posting all necessary journals to maintain the nominal ledger up to trial balance. Delivering monthly management reporting. Maintaining cashflow and advising as appropriate. Preparing necessary reconciliations and other required information to produce monthly management accounts and to assist the Finance Manager to produce the annual statutory accounts. Preparing annual statements of service charge costs for all properties with communal services and estimate costs for the next year. Assist in maintaining the fixed asset registers for the company. Providing Finance Business Partnering as and when needed. Comply with the requirements of the Financial Regulations. Assist in collating and distributing papers for Board and other company meetings. To develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, customers and clients outside the organisation. Always understand and follow policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Fairness, and Business Continuity Planning. Assist with any other required duties supporting the financial understanding within the organisation. Knowledge / Experience Proven experience in producing management accounts. Educated to ‘O’ Level/GCSE standard in English and Mathematics. Qualified management accountant – CIMA/ACCA/AAT qualifications Experience of using accounting software & and payroll programmes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with all levels of organisation. Proficiency in the use of Spreadsheets and Word-processing applications Ability to learn to use the relevant software quickly and confidently. Excellent organisational skills. Ability to work as part of a team as well as using own initiative. Ability to manage time well, prioritise workload, and plan ahead in order to handle several tasks simultaneously without losing sight of priorities. Ability to adopt a methodical approach and work within systems and procedures. Able to handle sensitive data and be competent in maintaining clear and accurate records. Attention to detail.
