The Role & Responsibilities The market Analyst will assist the wider product team with development of the mortgage proposition for the group's residential, buy to let, commercial mortgage and bridging propositions ensuring that the product team can consistently offer an exceptional level of product management, development and governance, ensuring customers are a key consideration.They will Own, Manage and Develop the property divisions market analysis tools and distribute regular reports on the UK mortgage market with a particular focus on the markets we serve in order to understand changes to the banks competitive market position in real time as well as identifying trends, gaps, opportunities and threats and helping to drive product development and innovation. Own, Manage and Develop the property divisions market analysis tool and distribute regularly. Promptly respond to ad-hoc requests for market analysis from various internal stakeholders, including senior management and Exco. Carry out detailed analysis & identify market trends and opportunities, providing insight and recommendations which lead to product innovation and development and distribute weekly updates of relevant market intelligence. Work collaboratively with the wider product team to assess the impact of market changes. Work with the wider product team to provide context and assessments of the potential impact of changes or new product proposals. Work with internal teams, and external mortgage brokers and packagers, to gather feedback and intelligence on competitor products, as well as the market view of the Bank's own mortgage proposition. Write, and occasionally present, product proposals for senior teams, having fully understood who our customers are. Compliance with the bank’s product governance framework, ensuring activities are aligned to it. Keep abreast of all regulatory changes within the industry and update the necessary teams of any changes. Manage relationships with external agencies, including sourcing systems, to ensure the Bank maximises value and benefits from the data and regularly attend industry events and roadshows. Maintain the company's compliance standards and ensure timely completion of all mandatory on-line training modules and attestations. Ensure competitor changes are logged in order to be able to provide market data for current and historical points of time, for analysis. Take an active role with input and collation of committee papers, ensuring the product teams milestones are recorded accurately. Support with relevant market analysis the continued due diligence for all product & proposition related activities including adherence of the ‘Product Approval Policy, regular APR’s conducted and ensure submitted in a timely fashion. Attend and provide input where required monthly Product Committee meetings and ensure accurate minutes recording and distributed in a timely manner. Own, Manage and Develop the product team milestone/VCR tracker The Person Experience in business/market research Strong experience in a mortgage related role and have a solid background in financial Good knowledge of mortgage products. Proficient in MS Office applications which include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint & viso. Level 3 CeMap qualification is desirable. Strong team working and collaboration skills. Be able to act as a liaison between the business stakeholders and product team. Able to problem solve particularly when impediments arise that block development of product development. Able to produce high quality supporting analysis. Experience in using analysis tools & techniques. Be respectful, honest & reliable Lead by example and act as a role model for others.
