An engineering company in York is looking for a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. A salary of up to £25,000 is on offer for this role, alongside flexible and hybrid working options, 33 days holiday, including bank holidays, discretionary bonus and further. Permanent opportunities may also arise in the future too. Reporting into the Purchase Ledger Manager, key responsibilities for the Purchase Ledger Assistant will include: Manage and process incoming invoices daily, including matching, attaching invoices, coding and data input on the accounting system Ensure prepayment, fixed asset and multi-project invoices are posted accurately Ensure credit note are authorised and processed accurately Monitor and maintain Accounts Payable mailboxes to ensure invoices are recorded and all internal/external queries as responded to Investigate and resolve discrepancies with stakeholders and suppliers Assist with Weekly Payment run for domestic and international payments Monthly Reconciliation of Key Supplier Accounts. Other Duties: Ad hoc support to wider Finance and Project teams.To be successful in this Purchase Ledger Assistant opportunity, you will ideally: Have previous experience working in a Purchase Ledger position or where purchase ledger has been part of your role Have knowledge in MS Office including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and various accountancy software (such as Sage, Xero, Quickbooks) Hold an accountancy qualification, such as AAT Level 1 & 2, but this is not essential Have a good understanding of accounting processes and proceduresThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk or Accounts Payable Assistant or, Finance Assistant or Accounts Assistant looking for a new opportunity, where purchase ledger has been part of your role.
